Said, a Christian convert in Egypt, has been arbitrarily detained in Cairo since July 15, 2025. His only “crime” is following his conscience and embracing his faith.

For years, Said has suffered harassment, torture, forced divorce, and separation from his young son. Now, he faces false terrorism charges simply for daring to live as a Christian.

Egypt’s Constitution promises absolute freedom of belief—but Said’s case shows this right is denied to those who leave Islam.

We call on Egypt to:
✦ Immediately release Said Abdelrazek
✦ End the persecution of religious converts
✦ Respect its own Constitution and international human rights commitments
